Australia Day Handicap podium.

Block Easy-Riders Cruise To Podium Domination

A bumper field of 26 took on the training exercise, here is how it went.

0:00 Ken E, Richard W and Ian T - Super Limit

1:30 Glenn, Greg, Allan and Ross -  Power Limit

2:30  Eddie, Dave P, Tony, Colin P, Paul K and Phil -  Block Easy-Riders

2:50 Chris, Frank, Jeff and Dave J -  Scratch

With all riders in top form the gaps were trimmed a little to keep everyone moving.

Super Limit took advantage and powered away to stay clear of all chasers for over 3 laps. Power Limit also had a strong go and lasted over 3 laps without being caught.

Scratch worked smoothly and smartly only to find the Block Easy-Riders waiting for them. With just under 3 laps to go all remaining riders formed a super mega group and the pace dropped even further. There were some accelerations on the hill but nothing serious leading to a simple bunch sprint for the places.

Colin and Paul started late but used their fresh legs to put on some big power to get into a great position to watch Chris roll across the line first. Chris (pictured above) now holds the Australia Day medal for a year.

The humidity made everyone sweat a bit more than normal. All riders received a solid hit-out ahead of the Tour Of February, starting next Thursday.

After the training exercise riders enjoyed breakfast with a coffee / milk based beverage at Good George. Thanks to Ken E (Pops) for the coffee shout.
